The Chamber of Commerce held its annual manufacturing dinner and expo, Thursday.

Local businesses got the chance to highlight their newest and most innovative products to the public.

The event's keynote speaker, Jeremy Bout, says it's up to industry leaders here to get the next generation interested in manufacturing.

"Manufacturing defines what we are as a country from an economic success stand point," said Bout, "and if we can get their young people fired about joining their companies, that's gonna really help Rockford"

Bout produces a show called "Edge Factor." He says the crew will head to Rockford later this year to put together a show, showing off recent graduates who went into the manufacturing field. If this describes you, head to their website on Friday to fill out an application.
