Patrick Earns Nationwide Pole 2/24/12

Daytona, Florida-Danica Patrick has become only the second woman to earn a pole position for a Nationwide Series Race.  She was the fastest on the track Saturday at Daytona during qualifying putting her in front of the pack for Saturday's race.

Patrick turned a top speed of 182.741mph.  "I'm just happy I could turn the wheel, push the pedal down and start on the pole. It's great to be in this position," Patrick said.

The only other woman to earn a pole for a Nationwide Series race was Shawna Robinson on March 12, 1994 at Atlanta.
