Huskies Shock Eastern Michigan 3/5/12

Ypsilanti, Michigan-The NIU Huskies' streak of futility in the MAC Men's basketball tournament is over. They upset Eastern Michigan Monday 55-52.
It's the Huskies first win in the MAC Tournament since 2003. They had lost nine straight tournament games.
The Huskies went into this game as the 12th seed. Eastern Michigan was the 5th seed.
NIU played strong defense in the first half to bolt out to an 18-11 lead. Tony Nixon led NIU with 14 points in the game. Aksel Bolin added 13. The Huskies had one of their best shooting nights of the season making 9 of 21 three-point attempts.
The Huskies raise their record to 5-25 and they now head to Cleveland for more MAC Tournament action. They'll face Western Michigan Wednesday night.
