Marengo One Win Away From Repeat 5/8/12

East Peoria, Illinois-Marengo will get a chance to try to repeat as 3A State Softball Champions Saturday.  The Lady Indians will play Glen Ellyn Glenbard South at noon in the championship game.

Friday morning Marengo edged New Lenox Providence 2-1 in a State Semifinal game in 8 innings.
Marengo's Reed Karsten scored the winning run on an error.  Karsten had two hits in the game.

Marengo pitcher Lindsay Melson went all 8 innings.  She gave up seven hits while striking out 11 batters.  Marengo's record is 26-5.
