Rockford Police Respond to Standoff

The intersection of Elm Street and Horace Avenue was closed while police resolved the incident. Police and Crisis negotiators spoke with the man for several hours. He eventually exited the home and was taken into custody. Kenneth sims of Rockford is charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, felony criminal damage, aggravated assault and no FOID. during a search of the home a 22 caliber rifle and ammunition was found.
