Rockford - A local hospital is victimized after a thief steals private patient information.
SwedishAmerican says a person posing as a vendor stole x-ray films in May. They contained names, birth dates, and other information. Investigators believe the thief's real target is silver from the films.
It can be extracted and sold.
It's a crime authorities say is happening across the country.
