"Jihad Jane" Pleads Not Guilty To Terror Charges
(Philadelphia, PA) -- The Pennsylvania woman known as "Jihad Jane" has pled not guilty to charges connected to an alleged plot to kill a man in Sweden.
Colleen LaRose is accused of conspiring to kill a cartoonist who depicted the Prophet Mohammed in a way that was offensive to Muslims.
She's been in custody since October and made the plea today in federal court in Philadelphia.
A grand jury indictment against her says she sought to recruit men online to wage holy war in South Asia and Europe.
She also allegedly told her co-conspirators that her appearance as a white, blonde woman would deflect suspicion that she's an Islamic terrorist.
LaRose is charged with providing material support to terrorists and conspiring to kill in a foreign country.
