Ben Hutchison joined the WTVO Morning News team as weekday anchor in January 2012. Prior to that, he was part of the WTVO Sports Team from August 2011 as Weekend Sports Anchor / Reporter.
He earned his Bachelor's Degree from Northern Illinois University where he majored in Broadcast Journalism. Ben was the Sports Director at the student TV station, the Northern Television Center where he co-hosted a bi-monthly sports show called "Top Shelf Sports" and was nominated for a Chicago/Midwest Emmy for his work on the program. He was also a 2009 IBA Student Silver Dome award winner for his piece, "Jake Coffman Story: Iraq to NIU."
Prior to working at WTVO/WQRF, he was a sports production intern with WGN-TV for the Chicago White Sox in 2008 and freelanced for ESPN. Most recently Ben worked at Naperville Community Television as a Sports Producer and Host of "Naperville Sports Weekly."
He graduated from Naperville Central High School and is a die-hard Cubs, Bulls, Bears and Blackhawks fan. His hobbies include traveling, reading up on history and spending time with friends and family.
