(San Francisco, CA) -- The California Supreme Court is taking a closer look at the state's medical marijuana laws.
The high court has decided to review rulings in cases out of Long Beach and Riverside that dealt with how local governments regulate pot dispensaries.
Medical marijuana advocates are welcoming the state Supreme Court's decision to intervene.
California's cities and counties have been torn between federal law that prohibits the use or sale of marijuana and California's voter-approved Proposition 215 that legalizes the drug for medicinal purposes.
