Illini Face Tough QB 8/31/12

Champaign, Illinois-The Fighting Illini will face a MAC team Western Michigan Saturday in their season opener. The Broncos are no sloutch, especially at quarterback. They return Alex Carder, a fifth year senior.
He set a school record last season by passing for almost four thousand yards. Against the Illini last year he passed for 306 yards and two touchdowns.
"He's a very, very good quarterback," said head coach Tim Beckman. "He can play at probably anywhere. He's a very, very good quarterback. We've got to control him. I think that's the biggest thing. We saw what he did also against Purdue, and he did it really here."
