Beckman Wins Illini Debut 9/1/12

Champaign,,Illinois-The Tim Beckman era is off to a good start at Illinois. The Fighting Illini beat Western Michigan 24-7 Saturday in Beckman's first game as head coach.
The Illini defense led the way by limiting the Broncos to -6 yards rushing. And Ashante Williams returned an interception 60 yards for a touchdown.
nathan Scheelhaase completed 11 of 18 passes with one touchdown and one interception before leaving the game early in the second half with an ankle injury.
