Rash Of Violence Plagues Rockford Overnight

Rockford - Police investigate a trio of shootings and one firebomb attack.
Police say around 3:30am shots were fired on the 1000 block of N. Church Street and three Molotov cocktails were thrown at a house. Only one of them caught fire. By the time police got to the scene no one was inside the house and the fire caused little damage.
10 minutes later near the intersection of Acorn and Rockton, an 18 year-old Rockford man was shot three times in a drive-by. The victim says the gunman pulled up to him in a 90s boxy style vehicle when he opened fire. The teen was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
And then just after 4:30am, a teenager was shot. He claims to have been hit somewhere on Rural Street, but didn't call for help until he got to his home ont he 2100 block of S. 6th Street. The 17 year-old said there multiple suspects. His wound also not life threatening.
