Manhunt Continues; Shooting Victim's Name Released

UPDATED (10:30 am): The Winnebago County Coroner's office has identified the female victim of the shooting as 36-year old Lori Daniels, of Beloit, Wisconsin. She died of a single gunshot wound to the head. Walsh was last seen in Rockford after the incident. We'll have updates throughout the day.


Shortly after the fatal shooting a suspect vehicle was identified and officers of the South Beloit and Rockton Police Departments became involved in a chase. The police chase ended near Springfield and School Street in Rockford.

Kody R. Walsh, 22, is identified as the suspect.

The suspect crashed the vehicle he was driving and ran on foot. While Walsh fled he fired at least one round at officers. No one was injured.

A female body was found in the crashed vehicle who's believed to be the shooting victim from the toll way.

Police are still looking for Walsh who's armed and dangerous.
