Shortly after 1:30 Tuesday afternoon, Police got a tip that suspected murderer Kody Walsh had been seen near the 52-hundred block of Safford road on Rockford's west side, before disappearing into a nearby field. The possible sighting spurred a massive manhunt by more than five police agencies.

The search lasted two and half hours, and put four nearby schools into lockdown, fearing  Kody Walsh, the man wanted for the shooting of 36-year-old Lori Daniels early Sunday morning on I-90, was hiding somewhere in the area.

Police cars lined roads around Anna Page Park and Lockwood Park. Officers carried assault rifles, and a helicopter circled over head all searching for Walsh. Police K-9 units were also brought in to help with the search. They led police into a wooded area in Anna Page Park, but eventually ended up back-tracking to the corner of Safford and Springfield.

The search was called off shortly after four, Tuesday afternoon, but police continued to patrol the area looking for any sign of Walsh.

Anyone with information on Walsh's whereabouts is urged to call police.
