Fighting Back Against Gangs in Boone County

Belvidere - The Boone County Gang Task Force does its part to prevent gang violence.
The group held a public forum to educate residents on how the gangs operate and what they look like. The hope is police will receive more calls about suspicious activity and crackdown on gangs before they commit a crime. "We're surrounded by areas that do have high gang activity" says Boone County State's Attorney Michelle Courier. "So, we want to be proactive and continue with the message that Boone County isn't going to tolerate gang activity here."
Courier also says past forums are working since gang activity in Boone County is down this year.
