A republican Senator wants state leaders to look past party lines and find a solution to prevent Illinois' credit rating from falling even more.
Sen. Mark Kirk (R) released a video today calling for "decisive bipartisan action." He didn't spell out what actions he thinks are necessary. But, it'll most certainly involve revamping the state's pension system, which is currently burning a $12 million a day hole in the budget.
Last month, S&P downgraded the state's credit rating from A+ to A making it more expensive for the state to borrow money.
