Belvidere - The school district's superintendent won't be leaving his post after all.
Michael Houselog was one of three finalists for the same position in his hometown of Dubuque, IA. But, he learned today his bid came up short.
Houselog said he wanted the job so he could be closer to his family. "My mother is 85. I have grandchildren and children who are living in that general region" says Houselog. "It was just a golden opportunity, the only job I've applied for other than this one in the last ten years."
Houselog has been serving as superintendent since 2007. He has three years remaining on his current contract.
