Machesney Park Man Surrenders To Police After Stand Off

Machesney Park - Dale Heilman, 59, is in custody after barricading himself inside his home threatening to hurt himself.
The sheriff's department and SWAT teams surrounded his home on the 500 block of Tanya Road this morning. Investigators say Heilman got into an argument with his wife. A negotiator was able to talk him down and he surrendered to police.
Heilman faces charges of owning a gun without a valid FOID card. No one was hurt.
