Huskies Ready For MAC Play 9/26/12

DeKalb, Illinois-It's been a great start to the football season for the NIU Huskies, but the season that matters begins this Saturday. The Mid-American Conference season.
The Huskies will host Central Michigan in their MAC opener. The Huskies are the defending conference champions. That puts a target on their backs for sure. But there are several teams in a loaded MAC West that could win it.
"We are 3-1, but at the end of the day the next eight weeks are what's going to count as far as the conference, and I know that the MAC West in particular is probably as strong as it's ever been," said Doeren.
"We're going into it confident, and we do think we're one of the top teams in the MAC West," said NIU defensive end Sean Progar. "If we come out and play the way we think we can, and we start faster than we have been then it's going to be a grind, but we're up for it."
Saturday's game will kickoff at 2:30 in DeKalb.
