Freeport - A low demand for services and an expiring lease forces the state to close its unemployment office in the Pretzel City.
It's expected to happen by the end of the year. The 11 workers at that office will not be laid off though. The State Department of Employment Security says they'll be transferred to other offices in Rockford and Sterling.
