Rockford - Police have identified the motorcycle rider killed after riding into the back of a car stopped at a stop sign. Investigators say 39-year-old Jeremie Kobler ran into the back of a Kia Rio stopped at the intersection of Route 70 and N. Meridian Road at around 5:40pm Wednesday night. Kobler was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet.
The driver of the Kia Rio, 48 year-old Douglas Schroder, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. He has not been cited for any violations, and police say alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
