Refs Ready To Return 9/27/12

We've seen the last of the NFL replacement officials. The NFL and the Referees Assocation reached a labor agreement early Thursday morning.

121 referees are set to return to work this weekend.  Some of them will be on the field Thursday night when the Browns play the Ravens.

The referees will receive bumps in salary and pensions in the new deal. The league will be allowed to create a new pool of officials to train. The labor deal covers eight years.

NFL comissioner Roger Goodell admitted that the fan outrage following the Packers-Seahawks game Monday added to the pressure to get a deal done, but he also says he believes the two sides were already on their way to reaching a compromise before that game.
