Rockford - The city's Mayor will run for re-election next Spring.
Mayor Larry Morrissey (I) made the announcement today at a campaign kick-off event at Prairie Street Brewhouse. He's seeking a third term in office. The independent was first elected in 2005.
So far, there's only one other candidate in the race, former Winnebago County Board member and Rockford alderman, Jim Hughes (D).
