Mendelssohn Arts Center Buys Downtown Rockford Church

Rockford - The Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center expands after buying the First Presbyterian Church on N. Main Street.
The Center beat out nine other potential buyers, paying $500,000 for the church. Mendelssohn will make an announcement in two weeks detailing what they plan to do with the building.
For now, members of First Presbyterian will continue worshipping there until the end of the year.
