Freaky Fast Move; Jimmy Johns Corporate announces it's Leaving

Jimmy Johns is known for being freaky fast. Now they're making a freaky fast move out of

state that's not going to be punitive to business like we currently are. We need

Candidate and Owner
of a local business Gambino says "We have to get our taxes to a fairer level. That's
one of their complaints. We have to get our regulations to a regular level. That's
another one of their complaints. And our fee structures are too high. That's
one of the reasons Jimmy Johns is moving their licensing division to
His competition in
the November election, Democrat Steve Stadelman says the key to job retention
is by making sure the workforce has the proper education.

District State Senate Candidate Stadelman explains "we need to make sure
we're competitive when it comes to tax rate and tax policies. But businesses
also locate here because they want a qualified workforce, proper transportation
infrastructure and job training programs. If there's one thing businesses need
that's a quality workforce."
Both candidates see
eye to eye on policies for small business owners. Mom and pop shops are often
penalized once the big corporations pack up and head out.

should be about."
Stadelman explained
"over the years we've given out tax incentives and tax breaks to large
companies, but have ignored small businesses. I think we need to even the
playing field and make sure they're treated fairly and equally."
Gambino and Stadelman,
as well as candidates in the 35th district Senate race and the House Districts
68 and 69 will speak during a political forum being held Monday October 1st by
the League of Women Voters of Greater Rockford.
