Three-week-old Mia Graci Thompson was found alive and unhurt on Friday. Authorities say her mother, Kendra Meaker, 19, showed up at the Stark County Sheriff's office on Thursday and claimed someone had taken her baby out of her car while she was at the post office.

Nearly 12 hours after the search began; a couple driving near the town of Toulon heard crying and found the little girl in a roadside ditch. The stark county sheriff says he's relieved the infant was okay.

Sheriff Jimmie Dison says "for this particular incident, I'm so damn happy, I could cry, so I hope we get through here. The child was found alive on a rural Stark County Road, whether where it had either been dumped or placed there by subjects unknown."

Authorities now believe the subject who dumped the baby there was her mother. Meaker is due back in court on Tuesday. She first denied doing anything to her baby, but later admitted abandoning the little girl.
