Rockford, Illinois-The IceHogs will open their season this weekend, but they still found some time today to hit the golf course.
The boys teed it up at Elliot Monday for the second annual Birdies and Blades outing. Each player plays one round with fans and folks from the community. It's a fundraiser that benefits local youth hockey prorams.
Brandon Pirri and Carter Hutton were among the IceHogs on the course. So were Andrew Shaw and Nick Leddy. So what type of scores were they shooting for?
Low 90s. I'd be happy with that," said Shaw. "I just started golfing this summer, so I'll be excited about the low 90s."
"Let's just hope below 100," said Leddy. "If it's any better that would be great."
