Woman Beaten To Death In Rockford

Police are investigating the death of a woman as the result of an early morning beating. It happened in the 2300 block of Belden St. Winnebago County Coroner Sue Fiduccia has scheduled an autopsy for tomorrow.
It's being reported that a man called police stating that his girlfriend had been beaten unconscious by a group of girls. He claims the girls started attacking the woman, but not him, when the two were outside.
Details into the victims identity have yet to be released, however police has confirmed the age of the young woman as being 27. Neighbors say they are shocked such a thing could happen in their "quiet" neighborhood, calling todays news "heartwrenching"
