ROCKFORD-  A cab stolen in Huntley after the cabbie driving it was attacked and stabbed has been recovered in Rockford.  It began in the Prime Mall parking lot in Huntley at around 9:30 Thursday morning.  Police arrived to find a wounded cab driver who told them he had picked up a man in Hoffman Estates and was in route to Rockford when he was attacked and pushed out of the cab.  The cabbie was transported to a hospital in Elgin with puncture wounds to his neck.

A GPS device on the cab allowed police to track it to Rockford, where it was found abandoned near Locust and Main St.  The vehicle is being towed back to Huntley for investigation.  No arrests have been made.
