Cab Driver Stabbed in Huntley, Suspect arrested in Rockford

Rockford - A man accused of stabbing a cab driver in Huntley was taken into custody by the Rockford Police Department.
Police say a suspect stole the cab and drove to Rockford. He was spotted by a police officer in Belvidere, but fearing for public safety, the officer decided not to pursue. The suspect then abandoned the cab near the intersection of N. Main and Locust Streets. Around 8:00 PM Thursday night the Christopher L. Mackey, 31 of Rockford was arrested. Rockford police returned him to the Huntley Police Department for additional questioning. The investigation revealed Mackey used a pen to stabe the cab driver. Mackey is charged with Vehicular Hijacking, Robbery and Aggravated Battery. He's been transported to Kane County Jail to await a bond hearing.
