Illinois DCFS Rescinds Layoffs

About 400 state workers can breathe a sigh of relief after learning their jobs won't be cut after all.
The layoffs to the department of children and family services were supposed to take effect about a week ago -- a move lawmakers hoped would save close to 50 million dollars. However, today they said they'll work with DCFS to restore some of their funding. A spokesman at DCFS says some employees will be moved around, but their jobs are safe.
