FREEPORT-- The cable news network MSNBC will broadcast an entire program live from the Sensata plant in Freeport Friday night.  MSNBC's 'The Ed Show' hosted by Ed Schultze.

The plant has been the scene of protests and appearances by politicians and social activists since plant owner Bain Capital announced it was outsourcing 170 jobs there to China.  Workers at the plant are now training their Chinese replacements, and it is slated to close by the end of the year.  Workers at the plant have asked Republican Presidential nominee Mitt Romney to intervene with the company he ran until 1999 in an effort to save their jobs.

Sen. Dick Durbin visited the protestors earlier this week, as did former NAACP Chairman Julian Bond two weeks ago.

Schultze is a self-described liberal activist on the Democrat-leaning network who has been periodically covering protests at the so-called 'Bainport' tent city across the street from the Sensata plant. The program airs at 7pm CDT.
