Rockford Man shot and Dog killed during Home Invasion

The incident happened in the 900 block of
The robbers forced their way into the home and shot the male resident in the torso. The couple locked themselves in a bedroom. Shortly after the suspects left and a family dog was found dead. The male victim is okay.
Both suspects fled on foot. Police do not know which way they were headed.
