City Council Increases Fees on Vice Shops

Monday night the city council passed an ordinance that would
cost "vice" shops like alcohol, tobacco and pawn shops, thousands in
applications and fees. The council say to much of these shops saturating states
streets "Miracle Mile" is sending the wrong message. The decision comes after
months of deliberation and push from Executive
Director of the "Miracle Mile" Jennifer Hall.
The new ordinance applies to new stores only and all current shops are grandfathered in to the old ordinance. The council says its not on a witch hunt, it simply wants to take business on the miracle mile in a new direction.
