Rockford Police Lt. Marc Welsh has confirmed that Kurt Knutson, 36, has been arrested in connection to the murder of 27 year old Samantha Terriault. She was found beaten in her home. Police waited to label it a murder based on suspicions that she overdosed on heroin.
Toxicology reports indicated that very few drugs were found in her system and that she did in fact die from blunt force trauma to the head.
