Rockford - Key witnesses doom the prosecution's case of a local man accused of murder.
Charles Knight, 49, was cleared of 1st degree murder in the death of 21 year-old Joshua Irwin. Several of the state's star witnesses have a criminal past.
In the end, the jury said their testimonies were not credible enough to convict Knight.
The trial stems from a shooting at the Auburn Street Pizza Hut back in 2005. Irwin was shot in the head. Knight's lawyer claimed his client killed him in self-defense.
