Grim Milestone: Chicago Surpasses 2011 Homicide Rate

That's one more than the city's grand total of homicides last year.
Mayor Rahm Emmanuel acknowledged the numbers are "not good." But he said overall crime is down 9 percent in 2012.
Just over the weekend, there were six deadly shootings in the city.
