Rockford - Dist. 205's soon-to-be superintendent isn't wasting any time trying to get more students to graduate high school.
Dr. Ehren Jarrett stopped by East High School to talk with teachers and faculty about the district's Readiness Rocks initiative. It's a campaign to reform schools and boost students' grades. One of Jarrett's priorities is to build a better school system to attract more people to Rockford. "I think when we're consistently turning the page and starting over with a new silver bullet that's gotten us into trouble. Now, it's time to do the work to continue to build the momentum and to take this system and make it as great as it can be" says Jarrett.
Jarrett will officially start his new job in July.
