Rockford Church Organizing Relief Drive for Victims of Hurricane Sandy

ROCKFORD - Rockford First Church is holding a Hurricane Sandy Relief Drive on Sunday from 9am-4:30pm.  The church will be taking donations for hurricane relief efforts on the east coast in the church parking lot located at 5950 Spring Creek Rd through the weekend.  They'll then load supplies into a 26 foot truck that will head to impacted areas on the east coast.

Church Pastor Jeremy DeWeerdt and others will fly to the East Coast to meet with several local pastors and relief organizers tomorrow to get a first-hand look at the help residents need.

The church group is specifically looking for the following needed supplies.

Bottled Water

New Blankets & Sleeping Bags

Candles

Flashlights

Batteries

Anti-Bacterial Wipes

Cleaning Supplies (Mops, Brooms, Dustpans, Rags, 409, Windex)

Rakes & Shovels (including snow shovels)

Paper Towels

Portable Generators
