Rockford Park District Foundation Honors Veterans

Loves Park - Veterans Day isn't until Monday, but that didn't stop the Stateline from honoring those who fight for our freedom.
The Rockford Park District held a "Tribute to Veterans" event at city hall. The Harlem High School choraleers and Wind Ensemble performed "God Bless America" and a wreath was placed on the Field of Honor Veterans Memorial.
"It's great to see the community and the younger generation embracing that and realizing what's going on" says Andrew Hedlund, who served two tours during Operation Iraqi Freedom. "It's not just another day off school."
