Music and the latest fashions were the center of SwedishAmerican's annual fashion show. "Puttin on the glitz" raised money for SwedishAmerican's new outpatient cancer center.

Local media personalities, volunteers and cancer survivors strutted the catwalk for crowds. WTVO's and FOX 39's Mimi Murphy, Sachelle Saunders and Christie Nicks modeled evening gowns during the show.

More than 400 people cheered on the models during the luncheon.

The fabulous fashion show also paid tribute to local radio personality and TV anchor Jeannie Hayes. Hayes lost her short battle with leukemia this week.

The new outpatient cancer treatment facility will open next fall on North Bell School Road.

Rockford Veterans clinic offers Healthcare close to home for Soldiers

The Department of Veterans Affairs dedicates their newest outpatient center for veterans.

The community-based outpatient facility is twice the size of the old center.

The healthcare facility will serve the 22,000 veterans in Winnebago County. Doctors are striving to make the newly built center a hub for Veteran's healthcare. Mental health counseling and radiology are just some of the added services.

Marine and Veteran Don Robson says today's dedication is special to him. Robson also mentions the new location is much more convenient, "if we had any big procedures to have done we had to go to up to Madison. But since they've opened this facility now especially they'll have all those tests done here so that will be great for us."

The outpatient clinic is located at 816 Featherstone Rd., Rockford.
