The Chicago Rockford Airport is reporting a 4.8 percent increase in passenger traffic over last Novermber. More than 14,000 passengers used the airport during the month compared to 13,533 passengers in November 2011. Year-to-date passenger traffic at RFD is also up 13 percent.
"With our focus on leisure travel, we have opened up opportunities this year to Denver and Punta Cana. Both of these destinations have had a significant impact on our passenger numbers in 2012. Next year is looking good with the addition of Montego Bay, Jamaica in January and restored service to the Ft. Myers area in February," said RFD Director Mike Dunn.
RFD currently has nonstop flights to Cancun, Denver, Las Vegas, Orlando, Phoenix, Punta Cana and Tampa Bay. Service to Montego Bay, Jamaica via Apple Vacations begins January 28th. Allegiant will start service to Ft. Myers, Fla. via Punta Gorda beginning February 14th.
