December 20, 2012 (FREEPORT) -- Freeport Police responded to dozens of accidents and Business 20 had to be closed for a time.
Snow here. Snow there. Snow is now everywhere in the Stateline.
Some people in Freeport said, they're not a fan of the winter wonderland, but it doesn't really bother David Saldivar.
"Because last year we really didn't get snow," said David Saldivar. "So I've been waiting for some for a while now."
Saldivar is not the only one who's been waiting for the first snowfall of the year.
"I really love it. I'm ready for it," said Rahim Alaboudi. "That's why I got my truck ready."
Rahim Aladoudi has a big red truck that's equipped with a snow plower.
He hopes to use it to spread the holiday cheer, helping people who may not be prepared this winter.
"That way I try to help other people," said Alaboudi. "Plow for them. I'm going to try and they're not going to charge me though."
Alaboudi remembered the blizzard of 2011 all to well.
He said, the thought of having to possibly experience it all over again scares him, but he's mentally prepared.
"Always bad. Real bad. So hopefully we're not going to get the same thing," said Alaboudi. "I hope it's not. It's going to be a lot of mess."
