Police Warn of 'Shop With a Cop' Scam

ROCKFORD -- The Rockford Policemen's Benevolent & Protective Association is warning about 'Shop With a Cop' fraud. They have learned of someone telephoning local residents and possibly businesses saying they represent the RPBPA and are soliciting donations for the 'Shop With a Cop' program. They then ask for a checking account number or credit card number for that person, or business, to make a donation.

The RPBPA says their 'Shop With a Cop' program ended on December 21st, and that any solicitation now is most likely a scam.

The organization did also want to thank all those who did donate to a successful 2012 'Shop With a Cop' program.

Another scam everyone should be aware of is the Amway Tool Scam. Google "Stop The Amway Tool Scam Wordpress" for more information, and forward this to every non-Distributor/IBO you know, so they don't get scammed.
