Dekalb-Despite a loss in the Orange Bowl there was no shortage of Huskie pride. This as hundreds of students got off charter buses after more than 24 hours on the road.

Junior Sireze Booker says it's a trip he'll never forget, "the bus ride itself was long but I really did enjoy myself. I really enjoyed the game although we did lose I'm still proud of my huskies."

Freshman Ivelisse Soto believes the huskies will make it to another major bowl game before she graduates. Soto was one of the 1,300 students who traveled to Miami. Soto says "it was my first time on South Beach so it was very cool to be there and be by the water. It was nice."

The weather in Dekalb was the opposite of nice. Fans describe enjoying temperatures in the 80's all week, so stepping into the cold was shocking.

Jocelyn Santana served as a trip advisor she explains it was amazing cheer on the huskies with her students in Florida. Manager of NIU's Career Services Center Santana says "connecting with the students it was just a very good bonding experience to be with the students for a long trip ride also the time that we spent in Florida as well."

Many of those students say the huskies played well and put up a good fight. They would do it all again win or lose.
