Springfield
- Some lawmakers say the unions are getting too strong and big. Almost all state workers are part of a union. The unions say this is unfair. It would take away collective bargaining rights for more than 3,500 state workers that are already part of a union. That means no negotiated pay raises, no chance at promotions and no contract.

Union leaders say if members were forced out -- morale would go down and everyone would most likely feel the consequences. Union leaders say this is just one more thing in a series of battles with the state. The measure is ready to go to the governor's desk.
