Gay Marriage Supporters Rally as Legislation is Pending

Chicago- Activists gathered trying to rally support for the legislation - which is currently pending in Springfield. State lawmakers remain in the lame-duck session this week. But the proposal to legalize gay marriage passed a senate committee last week.

Right now civil unions are legal in the state. Nine states currently allow gay marriage.
