Rockton Community Pays Respects To Former Fire Chief

Rockton - The community says "goodbye" to one of its most beloved members.
A funeral was held today for former Fire Chief Ron Weavel. First, friends and family paid their respects during a visitation at the McCorkle Funeral Home. A mass was held at St. Peter's. Weavel was laid to rest at the Rockton Township Cemetery.
He retired from the fire department in 2009.
Weavel once served in the U.S. Navy. He also received a humanitarian award in 2004 for his efforts after a tornado hit in LaSalle County.
