Hall Of Fame Class 1/14/13

Rockford, Illinois-The best athletes and the best teams in Rockford Public School District history will be recognized in the RPS Hall of Fame.
The first class of inductees for this year has been selected by a local panel that included WTVO's Scott Leber.
Former East football standout Jerry Latin will be the male athlete inducted. The female athlete will be former Guilford state champion swimmer Lisa Coole. Former West basketball coach Alex Saudargus will also be inducted. So will two teams, the 1974 East football team which won a state championship, and the 1955 and '56 West state championship basketball teams.
Also Genelle Samuelson will be inducted for her service to the Rockford Public School District.
The Hall of Fame induction banquet will be held Saturday, February 23rd at the Radisson Conference Center on Bell School Road. The event will be a fundraiser for District 205 athletics.
