The party is over, the celebration done. With the 57th
presidential inauguration over many stateliners are left wondering what's next?
Chairman of the Winnebago County Democrats Charles Laskonis
says its time for Washington
to get back to work, saying "now we have to get down to the issue of governing".
Laskonis admits while Monday was time for celebration, moving forward its time
to get back to the issues, namely the economy. Job creation is still the
biggest issue plaguing America
and Laskonis says we're not out of the woods yet.
A statement that 67th district representative
chuck Jefferson agrees with. In an over the
phone conversation he told us "its
going to take good jobs, its going to take good wages to get back to being a
thriving economy" Jefferson was in Washington for
the inauguration and he says its time to put into practice the themes of unity
and bipartisanship from Obama's inaugural address; saying" we have to come
together in spite our differences and partisan politics, we still have to come
together for the cause of the people".
A seemingly
novel concept these past few years but on democrats say there willing to embrace
once again.
